EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - - The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team dropped a nonconference game at East Stroudsburg, 22-4, on Tuesday afternoon at Whitenight Field, ending a four-game road trip.

The Warriors (7-1) scored the first three goals of the game, but the Wildcats (0-5) fought back to close the gap to 5-3 with 13:52 to play in the first half. But the Warriors closed the half on a 9-0 run, carrying them to the nonconference victory.

The stretch carried over into the second half as well, as the Warriors scored the first seven goals after halftime to open as large as a 21-3 lead.

La'Dae Boykin put the Wildcats on the board with 23:34 to play in the first half as the teams traded the next five goals. Gabby Spalt cut the deficit in half, 4-2, with a free position goal with 19:27 to play before Sara LeBrun added a goal with 13:52 to play to get the Wildcats to within 5-3.

East Stroudsburg called a timeout and regrouped, controlling the ensuing draw and going on to score the final nine goals of the half, holding the Wildcats to a single shot the rest of the first half.

The draw control continued to trouble the Wildcats in the second half, as the Warriors finished the game by controlling eight of the final nine draws. The Wildcats' Marisa Parker scooped up the draw to begin the half, but a turnover on the offensive possession led to an ESU goal at the other end.

Boykin led the Wildcats with two goals on two shots, while Spalt and LeBrun tallied the other two goals. Megan Card and Spalt also dished out an assist each. Maddie Hurm recorded a season high 11 saves, but the Wildcats were out shot, 44-5, in the game.
