Gabby Spalt Named on 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll

NEWARK, Del. - - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) honored student-athletes from 47 different institutions with inclusion in the 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll.

The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team would like to honor junior attack Gabby Spalt as they lone representative on the Honor Roll. Spalt is one of three student-athletes from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to be named to the team, including two from Georgian Court University.

In order to be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Spalt led the Wildcats with 48 points this past spring, scoring 29 goals while adding 19 assists. She set a new career best with six goals on eight shots at West Virginia Wesleyan on March 11. She also collected a season high nine points on April 23 against Post, scoring four goals while adding five assists. She collected multiple points in the final nine games of the year, including scoring at least one goal in each of the last six contests.

Overall, the IWLCA honored student-athletes from 301 different institutions with inclusions in the 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll from all three NCAA Divisions and the NAIA.
