Gabby Spalt Joins Wilmington Women’s Lacrosse’s 100-Career Goal Club in 19-4 Win Over Felician

NEWARK, Del. - - Senior Gabby Spalt became the eighth Wilmington University women's lacrosse student-athlete to record 100 career goals, leading the Wildcats to a 19-4 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Felician on Tuesday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

Spalt needed five goals to reach the milestone and completed the task with 3:55 to play in the first half, etching her name into the Wildcats (6-9, 4-4 CACC) record books. The Wildcats scored the final 11 goals of the first half, leading to the CACC victory.

The senior midfielder quickly got on the board in the first half, scoring the team's first two goals in the opening three minutes. Spalt completed the hat trick with 22:50 to play in the first half before scoring her fourth goal of the game with 11:30 showing on the scoreboard. The senior then joined seven other Wildcats in the 100 Career Goals Club with her fifth tally of the game with 3:55 to play in the first half.  The first season competition for the Wildcats was the 2006 season.

Felician (0-10, 0-7 CACC) scored the first two goals of the second half to cut the deficit to 13-3, but the Wildcats answered with three straight goals to remain ahead by double digits. The Wildcats finished off the Golden Falcons with the final three goals of the game as well.

Spalt added two assists to her game high five goals while La'Dae Boykin chipped in with four goals and two assists. Megan Card also scored four goals for the Wildcats while six other players scored once. Marisa Parker and Auryonah Nash scored a goal and added an assist in the game for two points.

Boykin led the team with five draw controls while Nash and Zameria Jones led the team with four ground balls each. Jones also led the team with three caused turnovers on the afternoon.

The Wildcats wrap up their regular season on Saturday against Holy Family at the WU Athletics Complex. The team will honor its six seniors prior to the start of the game, scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
