Women’s Lacrosse Closes 2018 Regular Season with 18-2 Victory at Felician

LYNDHURST, N.J. - - The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team closed out the 2018 regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 18-2 shortened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory at Felician at Lyndhurst Recreation.

The Wildcats (7-9, 5-4 CACC) scored the final 15 goals of the half as the game was called at halftime. Felician scored back-to-back goals to get to within 3-2, and have a free position opportunity to tie the game, but the Wildcats' Maddie Hurm came up with the save. The Wildcats then rattled off 15 straight against the shorthanded Golden Falcons (0-13, 0-9 CACC).

La'Dae Boykin reached the century mark in the win, needing four points to break 100 on the year. She finished with three goals and three assists for six points and now sits with 102 points on the year.

Mikailla Spencer also scored a hat trick in the win, adding two assists for five points. Taylor Lambeth and Marisa Parker scored two goals while adding one assist each. Stephanie JubbValerie Bragg and Nicole Strong all scored their first collegiate career goals in the win.

The Wildcats outshot the Golden Falcons, 26-5, and collected more draws, 16-5. Lashay Ross and Christina Ziegler scooped up five draws each while Mikailla Spencer chipped in with four draws.

The Wildcats await the conclusion of the CACC scheduled games on Saturday to determine their seed for the CACC Tournament next week. The Wildcats could be seeded fourth, fifth, or sixth, depending on results.

The CACC Tournament First Round game, played at the higher seed, will be on Tuesday afternoon.
