NEWARK, Del. – After falling just short of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship last season, the Wilmington University women's lacrosse team will look to seek vengeance in the upcoming 2020 season, as head coach Kevin Day announces the 2020 schedule.

In their best season as a program last year, the women finished with an overall record of 11-8, with a record of 7-2 in the CACC. Earning the third seed in the CACC Tournament, the Wildcats fell just short in the semifinal round to No. 2 Jefferson in overtime.

This year, the women will play in 17 games throughout the regular season, while having nine home contests at the WU Athletic Complex. On Wednesday, February 19, WilmU will have both their season and home-opener at the Complex when they take on Barton College at 10:00 a.m. as part of a men's and women's doubleheader. They will have two more home games within the month, including Saturday, February 22 against Millersville, and Friday, February 28 against Bloomsburg.

To begin the month of March, the Wildcats will head down south to take Rollins College and Lynn University on March 4th and 6th in part of their Spring Break trip. After coming back to Newark, they will then head to New York for their next two games to take on New York Tech on Wednesday, March 11 and start CACC play at Nyack on Saturday, March 21.

Starting March 25, Wilmington will begin a five-game home stretch that will begin with Dominican and end against St. Thomas Aquinas on April 6. They will play the Chargers, Caldwell, Jefferson, Felician, and the Spartans during the homestand. Their final regular season home game will be on Saturday, April 18 against Post at 1:00 p.m., before they end the regular season at Chestnut Hill on Tuesday, April 25.

WilmU will look to get back into the CACC Tournament by being one of the top six teams again, starting on Tuesday, April 28, with a quarterfinal matchup. The final four teams will head to Georgian Court for the CACC Festival, with the semifinals on Friday, May 1 before a champion will be crowned on Saturday, May 2.
