Women’s Lacrosse Earns Four Student-Athletes to 2020 CACC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Continuing the 2020 Spring All-Academic Teams, the Wilmington University women's lacrosse team placed four student-athletes to the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team Thursday morning.

The women were represented by two-time honoree Alexis Miller who led the Wildcats with a 3.67 cumulative grade point average while majoring in elementary education: K-6 as a junior. Junior midfielder Maris Allen earned a 3.65 GPA while studying social work, as red shirt junior Delaney Steele maintained a 3.58 cumulative GPA while majoring in mid-level education: 6-8 for a second straight year. Sophomore goal keeper Tori Grubowski rounded out the team with a 3.56 cumulative grade point average studying health sciences.

The CACC totaled 45 student-athletes to the Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team across 10 Universities. Georgian Court led all schools with eight recipients, as Jefferson and Post University placed seven student-athletes to the list.

Chestnut Hill's Haley Norwillo is a three-time honoree as she earned the highest cumulative GPA on the list with a 3.97 while majoring in psychology. Four other student-athletes placed a cumulative GPA of a 3.9 or higher, including Georgian Court's Jessica Rogers who sustained a 3.95 GPA studying exercise science as a sophomore.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution. Requirements for eligibility for the all-academic teams were slightly altered this spring only, as the 2020 spring season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
