Quintin Ivy, Taylor Lambeth, and Brooke Siebert Earn CACC Player of the Week Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - As a whole, the Wilmington University athletics department had a successful week on the field, resulting in three student-athletes being names Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week in their respective sports.

The baseball team went 4-1 and Quintin Ivy (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) was named the CACC Player of the Week. The women's lacrosse team went 1-1 in CACC play this week, led by the CACC Player of the Week Taylor Lambeth (Townsend, Del./Appoquinimink) and the CACC Defensive Player of the Week Brooke Siebert (Felton, Pa./Kennard-Dale).

Quintin Ivy led the baseball team with eight hits and eight RBI in five games last week, batting .500 and reaching base at a .619 clip. He had at least one hit in every game, including a 3-for-4 performance in game one at Post. He also homered in each game of the Felician doubleheader, including a game-tying two-run shot in the opener. He also batted 2-for-4 with two RBI in the night cap against Felician as well.

Taylor Lambeth paced the offense to a 1-1 record, winning their first game of the season on Saturday at Post. She scored eight goals and added three assists for 11 points last week. At Jefferson, the junior attack scored four goals on six shots before scoring four more goals to go with three assists at Post. She now has 16 goals on the year and 96 for her career.

Brooke Siebert led the defensive unit with seven caused turnovers in two games last week, adding six ground balls to turn defense into offense. She scored three goals and added three assists, mixing in a team high 12 draw controls as well. At Jefferson, she forced two turnovers and scooped up one ground ball, added five draws in the close loss. On Saturday, she collected five caused turnovers and added five ground balls, seven draws, three goals, and an assist in the win.

The softball team went 3-3 last week and placed freshman Haley Downin and senior Alyssa Velasquez on the CACC Honor Roll list on Monday. Men's Lacrosse picked up its first win of the year, led by Giovanni Marino's four goals as he also earned a spot on the CACC Honor Roll for the week.
