Lambeth Tallies 100th Career Goal as Women’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Nyack, 21-1

NEWARK, Del. - - Taylor Lambeth scored her 100th career goal on Saturday, as the Wilmington University women's lacrosse team defeated Nyack, 21-1, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action at the WU Athletics Complex.

Taylor Lambeth's (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) second goal of the day was the 100th goal of her career, becoming the 11th student-athlete in program history to reach the century mark. She finished with four goals on Saturday and now has 102 career goals, tied for ninth all-time.

For the second game in a row, the Wildcats (3-3, 3-1 CACC) did not allow a goal in the first half, jumping out to a large lead early. The Wildcats raced out to a 6-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of game time, and earned the running-clock with 11:57 to play in the first half.

Lambeth and Brooke Siebert collected a hat tricks in the first half as Maddie Day and Riley McQuaide chipped in with two goals each before the break.

Nyack got on the board on a free position shot with 23:32 to play in regulation, but the Wildcats finished the contest by scoring the final five goals of the game.

The Wildcats caused Nyack to turn the ball over 11 times, as Nyack ended with 18 turnovers overall. The Wildcats only coughed the ball up eight times on Saturday. The Wildcats also led in shots, 38-4, draws, 14-9, and ground balls, 21-11.

Brooke Siebert stuffed the stat sheet with four goals, two assists, four draws, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Taylor Lambeth led the Whiles with seven points, finishing with four goals and three assists. Maddie Day and Riley McQuaide added three goals and an assist each in the game. Amelie Gamache chipped in with two goals and an assist while Makenzie Stritzinger finished with two goals.

Maris Allen had a goal and an assist while tying the team high with four draws. Zorah Perry led the defense with three caused turnovers and four ground balls.

The Wildcats return to action on Thursday when they host Georgian Court at the Complex. The opening draw is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
