TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Women’s Lacrosse Earns No. 3 Seed for CACC Tournament

NEWARK, Del. - - For the second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament in a row (2019) the Wilmington University women's lacrosse team will be the No. 3 seed and this year will square off against No. 6 Holy Family on Wednesday at the WU Athletics Complex. Opening draw is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Wilmington University Rules and Policies for spectators:

  • Two spectators per student-athlete
  • Grandstands are off limits. Spectators must watch the game from outside the fence at either end of the field.
  • Masks and social distancing are required.

Ways to follow:

The No. 3 Wildcats will face off against No. 6 Holy Family. The Wildcats defeated the Tigers, 17-11, in what turned out to be the Wildcats' final game of the regular season. The Wildcats have won four straight from the Tigers, dating back to 2017.

The Wildcats are led by junior attack Taylor Lambeth's 53 points on the year, as she second in the CACC overall. Her 32 goals are third in the CACC while her team leading 21 assists are tied for second overall. Maddie Days 28 goals rank eighth in the CACC while Brooke Siebert's 20 are 16th overall. Amelie Gamache has 17 goals on the year, ranking 18th in the league.

Brooke Siebert leads the CACC with 68 draws this season, and is also third in the league with 33 ground balls and second overall with 20 caused turnovers. Marisa Swanson is 11th in the CACC with 22 ground balls sixth overall in the league with 14 caused turnovers.

As a team, the Wildcats are third overall with 119 goals in CACC games and second overall with 80 caused turnovers in CACC games. They are tied with Georgian Court atop the leaderboard with 64 assists in CACC play.
