Five Wildcats Selected to Women’s Lacrosse All-CACC Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Heading into postseason play, five Wilmington University Wildcats were named All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, including three First Team honorees, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

In a vote of the league's head coaches, Taylor Lambeth (Townsend, Del./Appoquinimink), Brooke Siebert (Felton, Pa./Kennard-Dale), and Marisa Swanson (Eden Prairie, Minn./Minnetonka) were selected First Team All-CACC while Maddie Day (New Park, Pa./Kennard-Dale) and Zorah Perry (Clermont, Fla./Lake Mary) were named Second Team All-CACC.

Taylor Lambeth leads the Wildcats in all three scoring categories, ranking third in the CACC with 32 goals and 21 assists, and second overall in the CACC with 53 points. She's scored five goals in a game twice this year, including a season high nine points with five goals and four assists at Caldwell. She's also scored four goals in four different games and had a season high six assists against Chestnut Hill, tallying eight points. Lambeth also has 13 ground balls and seven caused turnovers on the season as well.

Brookie Siebert stuffs the stat sheet with all aspects of the game, as she has 20 goals and 14 assists for 33 points on the year. She leads the CACC with 68 draw controls on the year, second in the CACC with 20 caused turnovers, and third overall with 33 ground balls on the year. Her 30 points in CACC games only ranks seventh in the league, with her 12 assists ranks fifth overall. She had a season high five goals and three assists at Caldwell, setting a new program record with 17 draws in that game as well. She also had four goals and two assists for six points against Nyack.

Marisa Swanson has been terror on defense all year, ranking second on the team with 14 caused turnovers and used as a reliable outlet on clears. She also has 22 ground balls on the year, which is also second on the team for the season. She had a season high four caused turnovers and five ground balls at Post.

Maddie Day is second on the team with 28 goals on the year, ranking eighth overall in the CACC. Of her 35 shots on the year, 33 have hit the cage, ranking her third in the CACC with an 80.0 shooting percentage. She had a season high six points at Caldwell, scoring four goals while adding two assists. She scored a season high five goals against Chestnut Hill and had four goals at Jefferson and against Georgian Court.

Zorah Perry has been another terror on the defense for the Wildcats and is a tough one-on-one defender. She is third on the team with 14 ground balls on the year and is fourth on the team with eight caused turnovers. She had a season high four ground ballas and three caused turnovers against Nyack.

Caldwell's Arden Kassaleh was named the CACC Player of the Year after leading the league with 49 goals and 55 points. Jefferson's Erin Avanzato was named the CACC Rookie of the Year while her teammate Erin Campbell was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Year. Georgian Court's Alexis Hahn was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year while her coach Amy Rizzo was awarded the CACC Coach of the Year in a vote of the league's sports information directors. Nyack rounds out the Major Award by earning the Team Sportsmanship Award.

The Wildcats will face Holy Family in the CACC Tournament First Round on Wednesday at the WU Athletics Complex. The opening draw is set for 2:00 p.m.
