NEWARK, Del. - - Trailing 2-1 in the first half, the Wilmington University women's soccer team scored the final five goals in a 6-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Bloomfield on Homecoming Weekend at the WU Athletics Complex.

In what can't even be described as a career day because she also had a game like this last year, redshirt junior Loran Wyrough tied her own program mark by scoring four goals on Saturday, including the eventual game winner in the 41^st minute.

It is the second time in her career that she has scored four goals in a game, doing so last season at Nyack on October 20. She's tied with herself and Kirsten Stallone for the single game program record.

Wyrough started the scoring in just the fourth minute, finding herself alone and in front of the goal after Teigh Ward made a run down the right side.

But Saturday wasn't an easy task for the Wildcats, as Bloomfield scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead. The game-tying goal came in the 29^th minute followed by the go-ahead goal in the 33^rd minute.

But the Wildcats were able to retaliate late in the first half, tying the goal in the 40^th minute on a set piece. Rebecca Dolhansky took the free kick from the right side and found the head of Carin Essex-Arline who buried her first goal of the season at the 39:37 mark. Wyrough gave the Wildcats a 3-2 halftime lead just moments later, receiving another feed from Ward for her second goal of the game at the 40:52 mark.

It was all Wilmington after the break, as Wyrough added to the lead in the 57^th minute. She secured her hat trick by again finding herself in front of the goal mouth unmarked, getting on the end of a cross from the left side by Melissa Gall. Gall made a long run into the box and laid it across for Wyrough to slam home.

Ward was the catalyst for the Wildcats' fifth goal of the day, making a run down the left side all the way to the end line. She found a charging Stephanie Alvarez for a the backwards pass and the junior transfer found the back of the net for her first goal as a Wildcat 69:01 into the match.

Wyrough capped her day and the scoring for the Wildcats in the 75^th minute. Riley Thompson made a run down the right side of the field before crossing it towards the top of the 18-yard box. Wyrough made an excellent touch to corral the ball and buried a low shot for her record tying fourth goal of the afternoon.

The Wildcats out shot the Bears, 23-10, including 12-6 in the second half. They also earned more corners, 6-1, for the afternoon.

Kierstyn Williams recorded three saves for the Wildcats before giving way to Martina Stewart for the final 15:02. Stewart made two stops in her time to secure the victory.

The Wildcats head out of conference for a game this week when they travel to LIU Post on Wednesday. The Pioneers ranked fourth in this week's NSCAA East Regional Poll. The opening whistle is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
