PLAYOFF PREVIEW: No. 6 Wilmington Makes Seventh Straight Trip To CACC Tournament; Plays No. 3 Holy Family

NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's soccer team earned the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament, reaching the postseason for the seventh year in a row and looking for their first Tournament Championship since 2012.

The Wildcats earned the No. 6 seed with a 7-4-1 conference record, picking up 22 points. They square off against No. 3 Holy Family in the First Round on Monday afternoon at Father Judge High School. The Tigers went 11-4-1 overall, 8-3-1 in the CACC, picking up 25 conference points. The two teams met on Wednesday, September 26 at the WU Athletics Complex, with the Wildcats winning, 2-0.

Scouting the No. 6 Wilmington University Wildcats:

The Wildcats played one of the toughest early season schedules in the region, if not the country. Three of their first five games were against Nationally Ranked opponents in No. 15 Adelphi, No. 8 West Chester, and No. 8 Mercy. They were able to bounce back from a 1-4 start to the season, however.

Following their loss to Caldwell to start their conference place, the Wildcats took games from Felician, Chestnut Hill, Nyack, Holy Family, and Concordia to head into October with a 6-5 overall record, 4-1 in the CACC. 

Senior Rebecca Dolhansky leads the Wildcats with 16 points, scoring four goals while dishing out a conference second best eight assists. Krysta Memis is second on the team with 13 points, scoring three goals while adding seven assists. Jessica Unsuhuay scored a team high five goals while adding an assist for 11 points while Cassidy McErlain is the final Wildcat in double digits with four goals and two assists for 10 points. Thirteen (13) different Wildcats have scored at least one goal this season.

Senior Kate Tubo has started all 18 games in goal for the Wildcats and leads the CACC with four CACC shutouts. She ranks fifth in the CACC with a 1.66 GAA while making 100 saves on the year. She is also sixth overall with a  .781 save percentage. In CACC games, she has a 1.19 GAA with a .814 save percentage.

Scouting the No. 3 Holy Family University Tigers:

The Tigers started the season by winning their first four games and going 5-1-1 in their first seven games overall. They also won three straight heading into their regular season finale on Wednesday, but fell to Georgian Court, 1-0, in overtime to wind up with the third seed.

The Tigers' Bree Rock leads the CACC with 39 points and 17 goals while adding five assists. Alyssa Christiansen is the only other Tiger to reach double figures in points on the year, scoring three goals while adding a team leading four assists for 10 points. Hannah Derby and Kaitlyn Findlay have each scored three goals as well.

Holy Family has split time in goal this year, with sophomore Brianna Pudlo starting in eight games. She has a 1.60 GAA with a .765 save percentage and has played the final three games of the season. Alayna McSeed has started four games and played in five, only allowing one goal with a 0.21 GAA while making 15 saves for a .938 save percentage.
