BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - - Kasie Lambert scored her first goal as a Wildcat as the Wilmington University women's soccer team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory at Bloomfield on Friday night at Foley Field.

The Wildcats (4-6-1, 3-2-1 CACC) outshot the Bears (0-10-1, 0-5-1 CACC), 7-2, and earned more corners, 10-2, but only found the back of the net once in the first half.

Jasmine Brake had possession in the middle of the field before having her legs taken out form under her. Kasie Lambert stepped up for the free kick from 22 yards out and rocketed a shot that snuck under the crossbar at the 23:01 mark of the first half.

The Wildcats continued to pressure the Bears in the second half, as Sammie Bennett, Rochesha Dayes, and Allison Hartwyk put shots on goal, but Bears' netminder Mia Phillip made the stop.

Emily Navarrete then found herself alone in on goal in the 68th minute, getting around the drawn-out Phillip, but couldn't get the final touch on the ball as it rolled over the end line for a corner.

Emily Camp made two stops for the Wildcats, recording her third shutout of the year while being a part of four total.

The Wildcats return home for their next two CACC contests, first with a meeting against Jefferson on Tuesday afternoon. The opening whistle is set for 3:30 p.m. at the WU Athletics Complex.
