LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – A 3-0 win for the Wilmington University women's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak as they defeated Chestnut Hill on Wednesday night in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup at Victory Field.

The 3-0 victory captured the Wildcats (5-8-1, 4-4-1 CACC) fourth shutout of the season to snap a two-game losing streak.

Wilmington gained possession over the Griffins (3-11, 1-8 CACC) from the start, as Kasie Lambert got the first shot off of the night in just the first minute of play. The Wildcats earned their first of seven corners, but could not connect, before Samantha Emmi and Alexis Johnson could get two more shots off.

By the 10th minute of play, Lambert got WilmU going with their first goal of the night, as she got a shot off from about 30 yards out from the far left side of the field with no one on her to put it just under the cross bar. Chestnut Hill would get their first shot off of the game in the 11th minute, but Emily Camp would make the diving save.

Seven minutes later, Jessica Unsihuay tried to make a through pass in the middle to Lambert, but would get deflected by the Griffins defense for her to regain possession for a shot from about four yards outside the box to put it high enough over Chestnut Hill's keeper to give WilmU a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Lina Boussif gave the Wildcats a chance to make it a 3-0 lead in the 58th minute of play on a left footed shot at the top of the box, but it would hit the crossbar and lead to a corner for the Wildcats.

In the 66th minute of play, Unsihuay made a pass to Kasie Lambert near the left side of the post for Lambert to get a touch to Samantha Emmi in front of the net for an open shot for the third goal of the game.

Jessica Unsihuay and Samantha Emmi netted their fourth goals of the season, as Kasie Lambert scored her second of the season to go along with an assist.

The Wildcats outshot the Griffins 16-6 in the contest, as well as having seven corners to Chestnut Hill's one.

Wilmington will travel to Nyack on Saturday afternoon for their next CACC matchup. Opening whistle is set for 12:00 p.m.
