Press Release Written by Sports Information Graduate Intern Mary Kate Rumbaugh

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After finishing out the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference regular season schedule, the Wilmington University women's soccer team earned two All-CACC honorees entering the CACC Tournament.

Junior midfielder Kasie Lambert and redshirt sophomore defenseman Daryan Fennal both earned Second Team All-CACC for the Wildcats for the first time throughout their careers.

Lambert (Sparrows Point, Md./Sparrows Point) started in all 17 regular season games for WilmU, while recording two goals and two assists. Her first goal of the regular season came at Bloomfield on October 11, whereas her assist came in fifth game of the year against Felician. She also scored a goal and added an assist at Chestnut Hill. She has six points heading into the postseason, along with 30 shots. Lambert is the distributor for the Wildcats, beginning all offensive set pieces and corners while playing a vital role as a center midfielder.

Fennal (Franklinville, N.J./Delsea) has been a dominant part of the Wildcats' back line this season, starting in all 17 contests as well. She has helped the defense to a 1.15 goals against average, while putting up five shots throughout the regular season. The team's 1.15 GAA is second best in the CACC, while they've also only allowed 11 goals in CACC play, good enough for a 0.90 GAA.

Goldey-Beacom's Jenna Fannon was awarded CACC Player of the Year, while Caldwell's Amber Raines was named CACC Defensive Player of the Year. Jefferson rounded out the final three major award winners including, Laural Erick, who was named CACC Rookie of the Year, along with Erin Tinneny, who earned CACC Goalkeeper of the Year, and Socrates Nicolaidis who was named CACC Coach of the Year. Chestnut Hill would take home the CACC Team Sportsmanship award.

The 7th seeded Wildcats will head to No. 2 Georgian Court Tuesday afternoon for the quarterfinal game of the CACC Tournament. Opening whistle is set for 1:30 p.m.
