WALTHAM, Mass. - - Anatasia Diakos scored her first collegiate career goal, providing the lone goal for the Wilmington University women's soccer team in a 1-1 tie with Bentley in nonconference action on Wednesday at the Bentley Soccer Field.

The Wildcats (1-0-1) were down early on Wednesday, as Bentley (0-1-1) scoring in the opening seven minutes of game play. But from there, Wildcat goalkeeper Emily Camp was able to keep the visitors in the game, making four first half saves on 11 Bentley shots, and then six more saves in the second half. She recorded 13 saves in all for the tie.

Out of the halftime break, the Wildcats looked to strike quickly. Bentley had an opportunity to clear the ball out of their own end, but Lauren Hoelke stepped in front and played a ball back to Krysta Memis. Memis then found Diakos at the top of the 18-yard box. Diakos wasted little effort and one-timed the pass up and over the Bentley goalkeeper in the 50th minute for her first collegiate career goal.

The Wildcats were outshot by Bentley, 26-13, but only 13 of those Falcon shots were on frame. Lauren Hoelke registered four shots while Manuela Restrepo, Krysta Memis, and Kasie Lambert all had two shots in the contest.

The Wildcats return home to host Molloy on Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. The opening whistle is set for 1:00 p.m.
