BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - - The Wilmington University women's soccer team battled Bloomfield to a 0-0 tie in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest on Sunday afternoon at Foley Field.

The Wildcats (2-6-3, 1-3-2 CACC) outshot the Bears (1-5-4, 0-4-2 CACC), 10-6, in the match, including a 6-2 mark in the first half. But neither team could find the back of the net, resulting in the scoreless draw.

The Wildcats started quickly against the Bears, getting five of their six first half shots in the opening 18:13 of the game. Gabbi Corchiani sent a blast high before getting her second shot of the day saved in the 14th minute. Anastasia Diakos had a header blocked and then a rebound chance blocked as well in the 18th minute of play. Off a corner in the 19th, Emily Navarrete sent one high as well.

On the ensuing free kick off a Bloomfield yellow card, Samantha Emmi's chance in the 44th minute was saved by the Bears netminder Mia Phillip, and the game went into the halftime break scoreless.

Mia Phillip again made a stop on Jhanae Colston in the 69th minute, and a shot by Samantha Emmi off a corner was blocked as well. The Wildcats' final chance came in the 86th minute, as a shot by Julia Yuhase sailed high.

The Wildcats' netminder Mio Nakajima made four saves in the game, two in each half, to secure her second shutout of the season.

The Wildcats remain on the road for two more contests this week, as they first make a stop in Lakewood, New Jersey, on Wednesday afternoon for a matchup with Georgian Court. The contest begins at 3:00 p.m.
