PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - - The Wilmington University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tie on Tuesday night at New Tiger Field.

The tie gave the Wildcats one point in the CACC standings and now stand with 10 points in a tie for ninth. They are now 4-7-5 overall and 2-4-4 in CACC play. With two games remaining, the Wildcats are two points behind Caldwell for the eighth and final playoff spot for the CACC Tournament.

Emilie Larsen tried to get the offense going early for the Wildcats, getting a shot off inside the first minute of the game that was saved and another shot that was blocked in the seventh minute. Anna Ljuljic had a shot that was saved in the 27th minute and then Larsen had two attempts miss the frame in the 32nd and 38th minutes, respectively.

Mio Nakajima made two saves for the Wildcats in the opening half while the Tigers outshot the Wildcats, 7-5, before the break.

Julia Yuhase and Emilie Larsen each had shots saved in the opening minutes of the second half and then Samantha Emmi almost had another patented Samantha Emmi freekick goal in the 49th minute. After a foul on the left side, Emmi stepped up and blasted the crossbar from 23 yards outs, staying out of the net.

Annie Holst and Larsen each had shots blocked in the 55th minute and then Gabbi Corchiani's attempt was saved in the 59th minute. Larsen had another shot saved with nine minutes to play and then Jasmine LeClair's shot was blocked in the 86th minute, the last attempt by either side in the game.

The Wildcats outshot the Tigers, 14-13, in the second half, including a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Tigers ultimately outshot the Wildcats, 20-19, in the game, but the Wildcats led in shots on goal, 9-4. Mio Nakajima made four saves for her fourth shutout of the season.

The Wildcats have two matches remaining in the regular season and are looking to make moves up the standings. They head to Secaucus, New Jersey, on Saturday to face Alliance University at Laurel Hill Park. The opening whistle is set for 1:00 p.m.
