FLUSHING, N.Y. - - Red hot senior Andrea Ribalta won another singles match but the Wilmington University women's tennis team fell, 6-1, to the top team in the East Region, Queens, on Sunday afternoon.

Queens was ranked number one in the final Oracle/ITA Division II East Region Rankings and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

Needing to take both doubles matches to earn the point, the Wildcats won at number one doubles as Laura Gil and Sabrina Blasi-Smith earned the match, 6-3, but the Wildcats couldn't pick up the point. Andrea Ribalta and Mallory Nolte fell at number two doubles, 6-1, giving the point to the Knights.

Moving to the singles matches, Ribalta remained red hot at number two, defeating the region's 12th best player in Louisa Brunetti, 7-5 and 6-2. But that's as far as the Wildcats could make the Knights budge, as the home team took the other three singles matches.

Laura Gil dropped her match at number one singles, 6-3 and 6-1, while Sabrina Blasi-Smith fell at number three singles, 6-4 and 6-1. Mallory Nolte rounded out the scoring by falling at number four singles, 6-1 and 6-0.

The Wildcats get back to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play this week when they travel to USciences on Wednesday night. The first serve is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Hecht Tennis Center on the campus of UPenn.
