WilmU & GBC to Host 2022 CACC Women's Tennis Championship

WilmU & GBC to Host 2022 CACC Women's Tennis Championship

Wilmington University and Goldey-Beacom College will combine to serve as the host institutions for the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Championship, which will be conducted from Oct. 22-23, at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, Del. The announcement was made on Wednesday by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara, as Delcastle will serve as the host facility for the championship for the second time in as many years. The facility is home to both the WilmU & G-B women's tennis programs.

The two-day event will begin with the semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 22, followed by the championship final on Sunday, Oct. 23. The CACC Women's Tennis Championship Banquet will be held Friday night the 21st. The facility features both indoor and outdoor courts, so if inclement weather forces play inside, then it will be done seamlessly to guarantee successful completion of the championship. The winner of the tournament will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, which will be held in early May 2023. Wilmington University claimed the CACC Championship at Delcastle last season.

Admission will be free for fans attending the 2022 women's tennis championship. The CACC Network will also provide live coverage of the tournament including airing the post-championship awards ceremony.
