LAKEWOOD, N.J. - - Down two sets in the match, the Wilmington University volleyball team's comeback fell just short as Georgian Court squeaked out a 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory on Tuesday night.

Set scores for the match were 20-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-13, and 13-15.

After falling behind in the first two sets, the Wildcats (3-7, 1-1 CACC) battled back to take the third and fourth sets to force a fifth and deciding game. Georgian Court fought back to win the fifth set and the match, 15-13.

Heading into the fifth set switch, the Wildcats found themselves leading 8-3 as the teams switched benches. The Lions (3-3, 1-1 CACC) battled back to take the lead at 13-12 before completing the comeback by take the set, 15-13.

Wilmington was held to a .067 hitting percentage with 35 kills as a team for the match while the Lions hit .148 with 57 kills on the night.

Kaitlin DiGiacinto led the Wildcats with nine kills while Allison Briley and Alex Siolos each chipped in with eight kills. Kasey Couch dished out 15 assists while Siolos added 11 helpers. Shelby Henderson led the defense with 18 digs while DiGiacinto added 16 digs. Both Siolos and Couch added 12 digs each.

The Lions were led by Tatiana Rodriguez's 17 kills while Jhoan Agosto Rivera added 14 and Kelsie Blue chipped in with 11 terminations. Kelsey Oliver produced a double-double with 48 assists and 14 digs while Francheska Cedres finished with a match high 23 digs.

The Lions were able to out-block the Wildcats, 11.5 to 5.0, led by Georgian Court's Blue who finished with eight block assists and one solo block. Both Erin Bistany and Brilley led the Wildcats with two block assists each.

The Wildcats stay on the road for the weekend, as they head to the final tournament of the regular season. The team will face New Haven, Saint Rose, American International, and Franklin Pierce at the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by American International on Friday and Saturday.
