NEWARK, Del. - - Strong serving and solid hitting helped lead the Wilmington University volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of visiting Felician College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

Set scores for the match were 25-13, 25-10, and 25-23.  It was the ninth straight win over the Golden Falcons, and kept the Wildcats tied atop the CACC Southern Division with seven wins.

Wilmington (13-6, 7-2 CACC) rattled off 14 service aces and hit an astounding .321 for the match, while also out-digging Felician (4-15, 2-6 CACC) and holding the visitors to just a .167 attack percentage.

It was the Golden Falcons who started off the match with the momentum, jumping out to a quick 8-3 lead.  Trailing 10-8 midway through the first set, the Wildcats responded with a 10-point run on the serve of Allison Briley to take a 16-10 lead.  Jenna Brown's serve ran off another seven straight points to put the home team ahead 23-11 before a Felician error and a kill by Eile Harris gave Wilmington 1-0 lead.

Two early aces from Alex Siolos gave Wilmington a quick 5-1 lead in set two, and three kills off the right arm of Briley put the 'Cats ahead 13-4.  Leading, 20-7, Deja Stanek served two aces, followed by two kills and an ace from Siolos gave the hosts the 25-10 win and a 2-0 lead in the match.

Wilmington rolled out to a quick 5-0 lead to start set three, but Felician clawed its way back to 11-10.  Three kills from Briley and an ace from Miranda Shaw put the Wildcats back ahead 17-12, but again the Golden Falcons responded, this time scoring eight of the match's next 10 points to take a 20-19 lead.  Tied at 23 all, two straight terminations from Briley gave the Green and White the 25-23 set win and the straight set match victory.

Briley led the attack with 15 kills, 10 digs and two aces, hitting .333 for the match.  Siolos chipped in with 11 kills and four aces, to go along with her .280 attack percentage.  Harris added eight kills for the Wildcats.

Shaw dished out 22 assists, while Shelby Henderson and Jenna Brown each recorded eight digs.  Brianna Cunha and Stanek each added two aces.

Wilmington remains in the friendly confines of the WU Athletics Complex for their next match, as they leave the CACC for a non-conference tilt against Kutztown University.  First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night.
