Allison Briley Collects a Double-Double in Leading Wilmington Volleyball to Sweep of Nyack

NYACK, N.Y. - - Junior Allison Briley led the Wilmington University volleyball team to a sweep at Nyack, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon, earning the lone double-double of the match in Bowman Gymnasium.

Set scores for the match were 25-10, 25-13, and 25-28.

Briley collected an impressive 12 kills on 18 swings, hitting .667 while not committing an error in the match. She also added a team high 16 digs for the lone double-double of the match.

The Wildcats (20-7, 13-3 CACC) hit .323 for the match by only committing four errors on 93 attempts. It is the third highest team hitting percentage of the season for the Wildcats. They also hit .350 against Chestnut Hill on October 27 and .328 at Concordia on October 17.

Wilmington finished the match with nine different student-athletes collected a points, led by Briley's 12.5. Alex Siolos was the only other Wildcat to reach double figures, chipping in with 10.5 points (five kills, four aces, three block assists) for the match.

Junior Megan Ward paced the defense at the net that collected nine total blocks. Ward denied two attacks on her own and added five block assists. She also collected four kills to finish with 8.5 points in the match. The defense only allowed Nyack to hit .057 for the match, including a -.097 mark in the second set.

The Wildcats remain on the road for their next contest, as they return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division action on Wednesday at Georgian Court. The crucial CACC contest is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Lakewood, N.J.
