Wilmington Volleyball Rebounds with CACC Sweep at Dominican

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - - Less than 24 hours removed from a five-set match, the Wilmington University volleyball team went on the road and swept Dominican to bounce back in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Saturday afternoon inside the Hennessy Center.

Set scores for the match were 25-14, 25-21, and 25-22.

The Wildcats (7-7, 4-2 CACC) produced their second best attack percentage of the season on Saturday, hitting .226 with 38 kills and only 14 errors. The defense held the Chargers (4-11, 3-3 CACC) to a .079 attack percentage, producing 56 digs to the Chargers' 48.

Eile Harris led the attack with a .400 attack percentage, putting down six kills while not committing an error in 15 attempts. Allison Briley led the attack with 11 kills, hitting .276 on the day with only three errors on 29 swings. Jill Braunsberg collected seven kills while Emma Kongevold and Megan Ward chipped in with six kills each.

Miranda Shaw dished out a team high 15 assists while Braunsberg added 13 assists. Braunsberg also added a team high 14 digs while Briley put up 13 digs. Jenna Brown added 11 digs while Addalyn Flores was the final Wildcats in double figures with 10.

The Wildcats also held the edge behind the service line, coming up with a the most aces in a three-set match this season with 11. It is the fifth time this season the Wildcats have had double digit aces, but the first match that didn't go a full five sets. Braunsberg and Briley led the way with four aces each while Shaw, Rebecca Rawlinson, and Brown also got in the mix with one aces each.

The Wildcats remain on the road for another match this week, making the short trip to Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday night. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m. inside the Joseph West Jones Center.
