Three Wildcats Honored on 2016 CACC Volleyball All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Forty-four (44) student-athletes were named to the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball All-Academic Team, three of which play for the Wilmington University volleyball team, as announced by commissioner Dan Mara.

In order to be named to the CACC Volleyball All-Academic Team, recipients be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring or summer semester of 2016.

The Wildcats garnered three student-athletes on the team, led by three-time honoree and senior Allison Briley. She came into the fall season with a 3.89 cumulative grade points average while studying for her business management degree.

Sophomore setter Miranda Shaw is only one of three CACC student-athletes to boast a perfect 4.0 grade point average coming into this season, along with USciences' Rachel Isackman and Brooke Witmer. Shaw is studying for a behavioral science degree at Wilmington University.

Junior libero Jenna Brown rounds out the Wildcats on this year's All-Academic squad, coming in with a 3.61 grad-point average while studying for a degree in multimedia graphic design.

Nine of the honorees were named to the All-Academic Team for the third time in their impressive careers, while 13 more were named to the squad for the second time, marking 50 percent of the unit was made up of multiple-time honorees.
