NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Wilmington University women's volleyball team is slated to tie for fourth in the South Division as the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll is released today. The Wildcats received two first place votes to go along with 54 total points.

The Wildcats look to be one of the four teams in the South Division competing for a CACC Volleyball Championship in November. The Wildcat's will vie to build off of the 2016 season in which they finished 10-20 overall and 7-12 in CACC play.

Jefferson has been tabbed number one in the South with 11 first place votes and 86 points, followed by Holy Family's 73 points and Georgian Court's one first place vote and 64 points. Chestnut Hill is tied with the Wildcats with 54 points, while Goldey-Beacom's 37 points and USciences' 24 points round out the coach's poll in the South Division.

The North Division is led in voting by Caldwell with nine first place votes and 93 points, followed by two-time defending CACC Tournament Champion Post with five first place votes and 88 points. Bloomfield is voted third with 59 points, followed by Nyack with 56 points and Dominican with 44 points. Concordia's 31 points and Felician's 20 points round out the North Division.

The goal for all the teams is to be in the top four in each division at the end of the regular season, which will allow them to play for a CACC Tournament Championship. The opening round starts on November 14 with the quarterfinals played at the higher seed. The CACC Tournament Semifinals and Championship will be hosted by Wilmington University at the WU Athletics Complex on November 18-19.
