Brown Named CACC Defensive Player of the Year, Three Wildcats Earn All-CACC Volleyball Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Before entering into the postseason Tuesday, the Wilmington University volleyball team had one Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, with three players being named All-CACC, as voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.

Red-shirt senior libero Jenna Brown was named CACC Defensive Player of the Year, earning All-CACC for the first time in her career, while outside hitter Mandy Behiels was named Second Team All-CACC and middle blocker Rebecca Rawlinson was named Third-Team All-CACC for the Wildcats.

After being named CACC Defensive Player of the Week five times throughout the season, Jenna Brown earned the CACC Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-CACC for her work on defense. The Wildcats' libero recorded 599 digs in the regular season, averaging 5.08 digs per set. On September 29, she collected 41 digs against Nyack to tie the single-match record of digs in a match. She recorded double-digit digs in 29 out of 32 matches played. The red-shirt senior also collected her 1,000 career dig this season.

Mandy Behiels earned Second-Team All-CACC in just her second season as a Wildcat. The sophomore outside hitter was named Raven First Serve Invitational All-Tournament Second Team and Wildcats Regional Invitational All-Tournament Team earlier this season. She has recorded 359 kills with 3.26 kills per set thoughout the regular season, while collecting 291 digs. She recorded a season-high 21 kills and 17 digs in the Wildcats 3-2 win over Nyack on September 29. She has collected 11 double-doubles (kills and digs) throughout the regular season.

Junior middle blocker Rebecca Rawlinson was named Third-Team All-CACC after totaling 120 blocks throughout the regular season. Rawlinson leads the CACC averaging 1.03 blocks per set. She recorded a season-high nine blocks (three solo, six block assists) in the Wildcats' match against American International earlier in the season. She had at least one block in all but one of the Wildcats' 32 matches played. She also has 218 kills on the season, averaging 1.86 terminations per set.

The trio helped the Wildcats to a 19-13 overall record and a 13-6 CACC record to earn the fourth seed in the South Division. They will travel to the number one seed in the North Division, Post on Tuesday in the First-Round of the CACC Tournament.

Holy Family's Chase Wassel was named CACC Player of the Year, while her teammate Morgan Silks was named Rookie and Setter of the Year. The Tigers' head coach Jeff Rotondo was named the CACC Coach of the Year, as voted on by the league's sports information directors.
