Five Student-Athletes Receive CACC Volleyball All-Academic Team Honors 

NEW HAVEN. Conn. – Five Wildcats from the Wilmington University volleyball team were honored with the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team awards for maintaining a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher throughout the season.

Among the honorees were senior Emma Kongevold, juniors Mandy Behiels and Bailey Andrews, and sophomores Sarah Couch and Angel Oliver.

Emma Kongevold is a three-time honoree of the award, as she maintained a 4.00 cumulative GPA throughout the season, while majoring in elementary education. Junior outside hitter, Mandy Behiels is a two-time honoree for the Wildcats, as she sustained a 3.90 GPA in the psychology field.

Red shirt junior Bailey Andrews, who is majoring in communications, retained a 3.89 cumulative GPA throughout the season, as sophomore Angel Oliver kept a 3.77 GPA in the communications department. Sarah Couch maintained a 3.58 GPA, while majoring in sports management for WilmU.

The five student-athletes were compiled of a group of 49 recipients throughout the CACC to earn the All-Academic award.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
