NEWARK, Del. - - The 2020-21 year was a difficult year for everyone, but the Wilmington University Athletics Department showed its mettle once again as volleyball junior Mandy Behiels was voted to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for her work in the classroom.

Despite not playing during the 2020-21 academic year, Mandy Behiels' (Alberta, Canada/Psychology) was nominated for her outstanding careers thus far in both the classroom and on the volleyball court. The COSIDA Academic All-District and All-American Teams are voted on by the DII and East Region sports information directors.

Behiels is a two-time All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference performer, earning First Team last time out on the court in 2019. She was also a Second Team All-CACC performer in 2018 as a sophomore.

In 2019, she led the Wildcats in averaging 3.5 points per set, putting down 446.5 points in 127 sets. She had 367 kills on the year, good enough for 2.89 kills per set. She also contributed a team high 66 aces on the year, and was second on the team with 338 digs (2.66 per set).

In the classroom, Behiels continues to excel, posting a perfect 4.0 during the 2020-21 COVID year. She upped her already high cumulative GPA to 3.94 for her career.

She will now be nominated for 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-American Team which will be announced in early July.

Mandy Behiels is set to return to the court for the Wildcats with the 2021 fall season.
