Heather Pedrick Named CACC Co-Player of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - For the second time this season, Wilmington University volleyball right side hitter Heather Pedrick has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The sophomore from High Springs, Florida helped the Wildcats to a 2-2 week, with both wins coming in CACC play to improve to 6-1 and to second place in the South Division.

Heather Pedrick led the team with 77 assists and 8 aces while finishing second on the team with 37 kills and 52 digs. In the two CACC matches, she averaged 3.13 kills, 5.50 assists, 2.88 digs, and 0.75 aces per set against Jefferson and Chestnut Hill.

Her week started with 10 kills and 22 assists in a win over Jefferson, narrowly missing a triple-double with nine digs. She also had five aces against the Rams She then collected her fifth triple-double of the year with a week's high 15 kills while hitting .353 with 22 assists and 14 digs at Chestnut Hill.

On Sunday, she collected 13 assists and 13 digs to go with five kills against American International and then she had 20 assists and a week's high 16 digs at Southern Connecticut State, adding two more aces. She finished her week with averaging 2.47 kills, 3.47 digs, 5.13 assists, and 0.53 aces per set in the four matches.

This week, the Wildcats host a pair of CACC contests, starting with USciences on Wednesday night. The match against the Devils is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the WU Athletics Complex.
