2013: Competed in all six events in her first season as a Wildcat – best finish was a ninth place finish at the WUXC Invite to kick off the season – placed 21st overall at the CACC Championship, finishing in 21:51 – fastest 5K was at the UMass Dartmouth Invite in which she finished in 96th overall in a time of 21:17.01 – best 6K finish was at the Princeton Cross Country Invite in which she placed 154th overall in a time of 25:58.

At Delaware: Ran one season on the cross country team at the University of Delaware – successful middle distance runner in three seasons as a Blue Hen – broke the indoor school record in the 600 meter event in 2009 with a time of 1:51.85 – graduated with a degree in chemistry

High School: 11 timeletterwinner in both cross country and track & field at Syosset High School – named team MVP as a senior – named All-County during spring track – national honor society member.

Personal: Tijen Ozcen – daughter of Burhan and Jan Ozcan – has one sibling, Seren – earning master’s degree in Secondary Teaching: 7-12 at Wilmington University with aspirations of becoming a secondary chemistry teacher – from Syosset, N.Y. - favorite athlete is Mary Cain (17), the youngest American athlete to ever represent the US at a World Championship meet – the most played song on her iPod if “The World’s Greatest” by R. Kelly – also enjoys rock climbing.
