2016: All-Region (7th place) - CACC Runner of the Year - All-CACC (1st place)

2015: All-Regional – All-CACC – competed in five events as a junior – finished a personal best second at the CACC Championships, running the five-mile course in 27:33.9 – also finished second at the Jack St. Clair Championship, running in 27:43.8 – earned All-Region by placing 11th at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships, running a 10K personal best 32:00.8 – also placed sixth overall at the UD invite #1 and 11th overall at the Panorama Farms Invitational.

2014: All-CACC – only competed in three events due to injuries – placed 14th overall at the CACC Championship in a time of 28:53 – finished 31st overall at the Codfish Bowl, running the 8K in 28:01 – also ran in the Princeton Cross Country Invitational, finishing in 109th overall in 27:07.

2013: Competed in six of the eight races the men ran in 2013 as a true freshman – named CACC Rookie of the Year after finishing fifth at the CACC Championship – named All-CACC – best overall finish was fourth place at the 13th Annual WUXC Invite to open the season – placed fifth at the CACC Championships and eighth overall at the UD Invite – fastest 8K time came at the Princeton XC Invitational, finishing 147th overall in a time of 25:57 – finished 26th at Regionals (32:53.4) and 172nd at Nationals (33:31.00). 

High School: Earned varsity letters in track and field at Newark High School –  Blue Hen Conference Team champions in 2013, runner-up individually in conference – second team All State XC 2013 – Division 1 XC States Runner-Up –  First team All State Indoor Track – 4 x 800m relay State Champion, in which state record was broken  – Honor roll student.

Personal: Ken Fontal – son of Joseph and Marlene Jean Pierre – has a sister, Jennifer  – majoring in Finance at Wilmington University – from Newark, Del. – favorite movie is Pitch Perfect – also enjoys watching movies – the greatest piece of advice he’s ever received for cross country is to never concede – his most memorable sports moment is running in the 2013 NCAA National Championship race.
