NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of NCAA Preview Meets spanning the length of the East Coast highlights the fall season as Wilmington University cross country head coach Keith Jones announces the 2016 schedule.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams will compete in five meets during the regular season in preparation for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship, the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship, and hopefully the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship.

Jones will once again host his own meet to the start the season with the running of the 16th Annual WUXC Invite on Saturday, September 3 at Carousel Park. The Wildcats will remain in the First State the following weekend for the University of Delaware Invitational #1 at White Clay Creek State Park on September 10.

Trying to get a glimpse of the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship site, the Wildcats will head to the Bruce Kirsch Cup hosted by Franklin Pierce University in Hopkinton, New Hampshire., on September 17 to round out their September schedule.

October starts with a trip to the prized Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University on October 1. Another Preview Meet is set for October 8, as the Wildcats will head to Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Florida, to run on the Abbey Course to round out the regular season.

The men will be looking to defend their CACC Championship on Sunday, October 23, as the women will aim to improve upon their fourth place finish at last year's championship.  The men won the event by 28 points while the women had the individual champion in 2015.

A return trip to Hopkinton will be in store on November 5 for the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship with the teams vying for one of three spots in each race to advance. The NCAA Division II National Championship will be held on Saturday, November 19 on the Abbey Couse on the campus of Saint Leo University.
