Six Wildcat Cross Country Runners Named to 2016 CACC All-Academic Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Fifty-two (52) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Cross Country All-Academic Teams, as announced by conference commissioner Dan Mara.

Six of the conference's 52 student-athletes are members of the Wilmington University cross country teams, led by three-time honoree and 2016 CACC Runner of the Year Ken Fontal.

In order to be named to the CACC Cross Country All-Academic Team, recipients must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring or summer semester of 2016.

Fontal, a senior, came into the 2016 season with a 3.65 grade point average while going for his degree in finance. This is the third season Fontal has been named to the All-Academic Team. He is joined by his men's teammates Logan Brady and Miguel Suero.

Brady earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and now has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while going for his master's in sports management at Wilmington. Suero, a sophomore, carried a 3.67 grade point average in behavioral science into this season.

Three female runners were also named to the All-Academic Team, led by sophomore Cynthia Biron's 3.84 grade point average in criminal justice. Sophomore Tara Langan carried a 3.80 grade point average into the season while studying elementary education while sophomore Tori Crawford is also studying elementary education with a 3.63 grade point average.
