Cross Country’s Mark Corrigan Earns Second CACC Runner of the Week Award

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - A fourth place finish on Saturday has launched Wilmington University cross country runner Mark Corrigan to his second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Male Runner of the Week award this season.

Running at the famed Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University, Corrigan (Wilmington, Del.) was the first NCAA Division II runner to cross the line, placing fourth overall.

The junior set a 5:09.5 mile pace to run his fastest 8K of the season. He finished fourth overall in 25:38.23, just 15 seconds off the first place finisher. Corrigan helped the Wildcats to a fourth place finish, earning 122 points overall.

Women's Soccer Melissa Gall earned a spot on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll after anchoring the defense to a 2-0 shutout over Caldwell while also scoring the team's second goal of the game.

Women's cross country's Rachel Jones also led her team to a fourth place finish at the Don Cathcart Invitational, placing 11th overall in 22:41.49 to earn a spot on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
