NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University cross country team will race on familiar grounds on 2019, as head coach Keith Jones has prepared five meets leading up to the postseason throughout the 2019 campaign.

The NCAA postseason is finally coming to a park close to the Wildcats, as the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships will be run on Belmont Plateau. The men's team is coming off a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship, while the women finished second, on the very course in 2018.

Like usual, the 2019 season begins with the Wildcats' home event, hosting the 19th Annual WUXC Invite at Carousel Park on Saturday, September 7.

The Wildcats remain close the following weekend, as they head to Kutztown University to take part in the Division II/III Challenge on Saturday, September 14. September ends with a cross country trip to Sacramento, California, to run in the Capital Cross Challenge on September 28, the site of the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championships.

October starts with another familiar event, as the team will head to the Don Cathcart Invitational in Salisbury, Maryland on October 5.

The next three events will all be on Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, as the regular season ends with the Jack St. Clair Memorial meet, hosted by Jefferson on October 12.

The teams will then prepare for the CACC Championship on Sunday, October 27 at Belmont Plateau, followed by the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship on the same course on Saturday, November 9.

The goal is to reach the NCAA Division II National Championship, where the women sent an individual in 2012 and the men's team went in 2013 and sent an individual last fall.
