Keith Jones Named CACC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year for Sixth Time

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - In a vote of the league's sports information directors, Wilmington University cross country coach Keith Jones has been named the CACC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year, as announced by the conference office.

It is the third year in a row that Jones has been voted as the CACC Men's Coach of the Year, adding on to his career total as he now has six Coach of the Year awards. He has also won the award in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2018.

Even after losing two-time CACC Runner of the Year Mark Corrigan, Jones reloaded the men's team and led them to back-to-back CACC Championships this fall, winning the team title on Sunday, October 27. It was Jones' and the team's sixth CACC Championship, marking it the sixth in the last eight years. They also won the Championship in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018.

The Wildcats finished with 39 points at the CACC Championship, beating Bloomfield by 22 points. Five Wilmington runners finished among the top 14 in the standings to propel the Wildcats to victory They then went on to place eighth out of 26 teams at the NCAA East Regional Championship last weekend.

Jefferson's Dave Thomas won the CACC Women's Coach of the Year award after leading the Rams to the CACC Championship by a narrow margin over Felician, 42-48.
