NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Freshman runner Matt Gonzalez was named the CACC Rookie of the Week for his efforts at the Harry Anderson Invite on Saturday.
Matt Gonzalez helped the team to a 10th place finish at the NCAA Division II East Regional Preview Meet hosted by Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester, N.Y.
The freshman set a new personal record along the way, running the 8K course in 26:31.1 to finish 21st overall out of 199 runners.
Gonzalez and the Wildcats return to familiar territory this weekend as they will compete in the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University in Winter Place Park.
