Wilmington's Rust Named First Team All-American
June 15, 2007Wilmington College is pleased to announce that baseball standout, Jason Rust (Woodbridge HS/Greenwood, DE), was named to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association Division II All-America First-Team for his performance this past season. The ABCA's All-America committee released the team on Sunday in conjunction with the 40th NCAA Division II Baseball Championship being played at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama. -
2007 ABCA/Rawlings Division II Northeast Regional Baseball Team Announced; Franklin Pierce’s Renaud Named Regional Player Of Year, Bryant’s Loh Tabbed As Regional Pitcher Of Year
May 21, 2007Franklin Pierce College junior Keith Renaud has been named as the 2007 American Baseball Coaches of America/Rawlings Division II Northeast Region Player of the Year, while Bryant University junior Eric Loh has been tabbed as the ABCA/Rawlings Division II Northeast Regional Pitcher of the Year. The announcement came today from Patrick Boen, Head Baseball Coach at Stonehill College and the Northeast Regional chair of the ABCA Division II All-America Committee.

Wilmington Trio Named to 2007 Daktronics Baseball All-Northeast Region Team
May 14, 2007Wilmington College is pleased to announce that baseball standouts, Jason Rust (Woodbridge HS/Greenwood, DE), Joe Matterer (Newark HS/Newark, DE), and Brian Testa (St. Elizabeth’s HS/Wilmington, DE) were named to the Daktronics All-Northeast Region team for their performances this past season. Rust and Matterer earned first team honors, while Testa was awarded second team accolades. The All-Region teams were chosen by the head coaches and sports information directors in the Northeast Region, which includes teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), the East Coast Conference, and the Northeast 10 Conference.

Quintana Named CACC Baseball Player of the Year; Gleason Tabbed Pitcher of the Year
May 08, 2007Felician College senior 1B Frank Quintana has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Year in voting conducted by the conference’s nine head coaches. Nyack College senior right-hander Billy Gleason has been tabbed Pitcher of the Year, while Caldwell College outfielder Adric Saxon has won Rookie of the Year honors. Caldwell head coach Chris Reardon has been voted Coach of the Year and Nyack earned the annual Team Sportsmanship Award.

Four Wildcats Garner All-CACC Baseball Honors
May 01, 2007Jason Rust (Woodbridge HS/Greenwood, DE), Brian Testa (St. Elizabeth HS/Wilmington, DE), and Joe Matterer (Newark HS/Newark, DE) were awarded first-team All-CACC honors while Kenny McGrady (Rising Sun HS/Rising Sun, MD) received second-team honors.
