Quintin Ivy Named 2022 NCBWA Preseason Second Team All-American

NEWARK, Del. - - Senior outfielder Quintin Ivy was named to the Second Team NCBWA Preseason All-American and First Team NCBWA Preseason All-East Region teams ahead of the 2022 season.

Ivy (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) is one of the two total players out of the East Region selected as a preseason All-American. He is joined by Molloy College's pitcher Charlie Cucchiara who also was named to the Second Team.

Ivy is coming off of an impressive 2021 campaign. He was able to put 35 hits in play out of 88 at-bats, which totals to a .398 batting average. Ivy batted in 36 runs and scored an additional 29 runs. He put a lot of pressure on pitchers last season with his extra-base hitting, he connected on 12 doubles, homered eight times, and on top of that, stole 14 bases. He leads all of the Second Team honorees in slugging percentage at .807.

Ivy's 2021 performance on the field has also awarded him with honors such as NCBWA Honorable Mention All-American, ABCA First Team All-Region, First Team D2CCA All-Region, and First Team All-CACC.

As a team, Brain August's squad has received votes (9 points) for the 2022 Preseason Regional Polls. The Top-10 list includes five teams that the Wildcats will face this season: Molloy (2nd), Goldey-Beacom (4th), Dominican (6th), Felician (8th), and Thomas Jefferson (10th).

The Wildcats open up their season down at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They open up with a doubleheader against the University of New Haven on February 25 starting at 4:30 p.m. The next day they will play the second-ranked in the East Region, Molloy at 11:00 a.m. Then they will wrap up their trip to Myrtle Beach, with a future CACC conference opponent in Bridgeport that same weekend, Sunday, February 27 at 12:00 p.m.
