Five Wildcats Earn Spot on 2022 CACC Baseball All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champions Wilmington baseball team placed five Wildcats on the 2022 CACC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

The Wildcats, who hosted an NCAA East Regional Tournament for the first time in program history, were led by three-time honoree Tyler Campbell. They also had CACC Top XVI Award winner Justin Brooks on the team, as well as fellow two-time honorees Rich Albrecht and Alex Hinton. Xander Emberger joined the team for the first time this year as well.

Thomas Jefferson University posted a league-high 11 student-athletes on the honor roll. The top cumulative grade point average on the squad was Bryce Herman's perfect 4.0 mark.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Ten of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Twenty-six (26) of the honorees made the CACC Baseball All-Academic Team for the second time.
  • Seven of the honorees made the All-Academic squad for the third time.
  • Goldey-Beacom College's Mitch Guerrieri and Trevor Jump, and Post University's Matt Goehrig made the All-Academic team for the fourth time.
