NEWARK, Del. - - Wilmington golf senior Andreas Lunding has been voted to the 2015-16 CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District I Men's At-Large Team in recognition of the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Lunding (Horsholm, Denmark) is one of 11 student-athletes on the District I Men's At-Large Team, combing the sports of golf, swimming, tennis, lacrosse, ice hockey, skiing, wrestling, fencing, gymnastics, rifle, water polo, and volleyball. Lunding carries a 3.55 cumulative grade point average in the classroom while studying towards a Business Management degree at Wilmington University.

On the course, Lunding has continued to lead the Wildcats' golf team, as the team is preparing to begin their play in the NCAA Division II National Tournament on Tuesday afternoon. In the postseason alone this year, Lunding has placed in a tie for third in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament, and in a tie for 14th overall in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament.

The senior is a four-time All-CACC performer, being named the CACC Rookie of the Year in 2013 and the CACC Player of the Year in 2015. He has also been named to the CACC All-Tournament Team as a sophomore and again as a senior.

Lunding will lead the Wildcats in the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the fifth time in the last six years. They look to finish better than their tied for 15th place position in the 2013 NCAA National Tournament at Hershey Country Club.

The Wildcats tee off in the first round on Tuesday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. EDT at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver, Colorado. The Wildcats need to be in the Top 8 after three rounds to advance to match play starting on Friday.
