Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 13 in First Week of United Soccer Coaches National Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of convincing victories in the opening weekend of play has the Wilmington University men's soccer team moving up the ranks as they are now 13th in this week's United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Poll.

The Wildcats defeated Bentley, 5-2, in the season opener and then rallied to defeat 15th ranked Adelphi, 3-1, on Sunday. The Wildcats were receiving votes in the Preseason National Poll.

Charleston holds at No. 1 in the country after a 2-0 start as well. Indianapolis moved up from No. 4 to No. 2. East Region foe Franklin Pierce is at No. 3 after going 2-0 as well. Gannon, a team the Wildcats will face on September 18, is ranked directly above the Wildcats at No. 12 after winning their first game. The Wildcats will also play No. 22 Post and No. 24 Millersville later this season.

This week, the Wildcats head to West Chester on Wednesday and then head to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. Wednesday's game at West Chester is slated for a 3:30 p.m. start.
