Wildcats Move Up One Spot To No. 4 in Latest United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - Riding a nine-game unbeaten streak, the Wilmington University men's soccer team moved up a spot in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll and now sit at number four overall.

The Wildcats are 6-0-3 since a tough 1-0 loss to Gannon on September 4, including a 3-1 win at Georgian Court and a 1-1 tie at Bridgeport last week. That moved the Wildcats up a spot to No. 4 in this week's Regional Rankings.

The Wildcats are 7-2-4 overall and 6-0-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference standings. The tie against Bridgeport allowed the Wildcats to stay ahead of the Purple Knights in the standings by one point.

This week, the Wildcats have a tough matchup with West Chester on Wednesday before getting back to CACC play against Felician on Saturday. West Chester is currently No. 7 in the Atlantic Regional Poll and Felician was once ranked in the East earlier this season.

Franklin Pierce moved up to the No. 1 ranking in this week's United Soccer Coaches National Rankings with a 14-0-1 overall record. Adelphi is second in the East and ranked No. 13 in the National Poll. Mercy is ahead of the Wildcats with a 9-2-2 overall record and is ranked No. 23 in the National Poll this week.
