2018 (XC): Ran in seven meets his senior year – came in sixth place at the WUXC Invite with a time of 30:17.6 to help the Wildcats finish first overall – finished 16th at the Don Cathcart Invitational with a time of 26:54.48 – ran a time of 27:54.9 to finish 50th at the Inter-Regional Border Battle – finished 22nd at the CACC Championships with a time of 29:02.8 helping the men finish first out of 14 teams to take the CACC Championship – placed 79th at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships with a time of 35:52.50. 

2017 (XC): Ran in six meets as a junior as a Wildcat – ran a new personal best 8K in 26:31.08 at the Don Carthcart Invitational, placing 17th – came in fourth place at the Wilmington University Invite running a 29:22.03 to help the Wildcats win – placed 11th in the Philly Metro 8k by running a 29:12.6 time – finished 21st at the CACC Championships with a time of 28:15.1 – also ran in the UD Invite #1 and the UD Blue and Gold Invite.

2016 (XC): Competed in four events as a sophomore for the Wildcats – placed fifth overall at the WUXC Invite, running the 8K event in 29:35.95 to help the Wildcats win – set a new personal best 8K time at the Bruce Kirsch Cup, running in 28:13.9 to finish 39th overall in Hopkinton, N.H. – also competed in the Don Cathcart Invite and the St. Leo Invite.

2015 (XC): Competed in three events as a freshman for the Wildcats – placed fourth overall at the WUXC Invite, running the 8K event in 29:56.99 to help the Wildcats win – finished 36th overall at the UD Invite #1, setting a collegiate PR in the 8K with a time of 28:44.06 – also ran in the Jack St. Clair Invitational, finishing 57th overall in a time of 31:48.2

High School: Letter-winner in indoor/outdoor track as well as cross country at High Point High School – county and regional individual champion in cross country – indoor and outdoor county and regional champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter events – also a four-year letterwinner in soccer as a midfielder.

Personal: Johnathan Misael Avila – son of Elisa Avila – has three younger siblings, Luis Villatoro, Kailey Argueta, and Joseph Argueta – majoring in behavioral science at Wilmington University with aspirations of becoming a police officer – from Beltsville, Md. – also enjoys soccer – favorite movie is McFarland – most played song on his iPod is KOD by J. Cole – considers his mother his hero in life – favorite athlete is Lionel Messi.
