Second Year Track and Field Program Slated For Nine Meets in 2020

NEWARK, Del. – The second year Wilmington University men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in nine events this spring season, as Head Coach Christian Stamm announces the 2020 campaign.

Coming off their inaugural season as a program at Wilmington University, the men and women look to compete in some of the region's top events in the coming months. The Wildcats will begin the 2020 schedule on Thursday, March 19 when they travel down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The men and women will compete in one more meet during the month of March, before beginning five meets throughout the month of April.

WilmU will compete in a three-day meet at the College of William and Mary for the Colonial Relays starting Thursday, April 4 through the sixth. On Friday, April 10, the Wildcats will head to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Greyhound Invitational at Moravian College for a two-day meet, before heading up to Rider University the following weekend on Saturday, April 18 for the Rider Invitational.

Wilmington will compete in two more meets, including the famed Penn Relays and the Delaware Open to end the month of April. Starting on Saturday, May 2 the men and women will take on fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams at the CACC Championships in a two-day event held at Georgian Court. The Wildcats will end their season together on Monday, May 11 when they travel to Swarthmore College for the Swarthmore Last Chance Qualifier, with final hopes of earning a bid to the postseason.

Eligible track and field qualifiers will then compete in the NCAA Division II National Track and Field Championships in Kingsville, Texas from Thursday, May 21 to Saturday, May 23.
