Five Wildcats Take Place on 2022 Men’s Track & Field All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship runner-up Wilmington University men's track and field team placed five Wildcats on the CACC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

Led by two-time CACC Top XVI Award winner Logan Strouse's perfect 4.0, the Wildcats put five on the All-Academic team, including three two-time honorees. Including Strouse, the Wildcats also have Mitchell Coll and Matthew Hibbert as two-time honorees. Daniel Wyshinski and Joshua Varghese join the All-Academic Team for the first time in their careers.

Caldwell University, reigning CACC champion Georgian Court University, and Thomas Jefferson University each led the way with six honorees apiece. Caldwell's best mark went to Alex Geddes (3.96 GPA), while GCU's top GPA was Kyle Spector's 3.85. Jefferson was led by Owen Bradley and his perfect 4.0 GPA.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Eight of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Eleven (11) of the honorees made the CACC Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team for the second time.
  • Four of the honorees made the All-Academic squad for the third time.
  • GCU's Kyle Muir and University of the Sciences William Hallinan made the all-academic unit for the fourth time in their respective careers.
