NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University bowling team is preparing for the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Bowling Championship this weekend, heading into the tournament as the No. 1 seed which will be hosted by Chestnut Hill at Our Town Alley in East Norriton, Pennsylvania.

The Wildcats received a first-round bye and will play the winner of No. 4 Caldwell and No. 5 Felician in the second round of the double-elimination tournament starting on Friday. The Wildcat's first match is expected to start at 1:30 p.m.

The CACC Championship will feature a best-of-three mega-match format, with the first match being a five-person team score (traditional) followed by a Baker total pinfall match. If the match is tied, 1-1, the teams will play a best-of-seven Baker Series match to determine a winner. The Wildcats are familiar with the format, as they won the East Coast Conference Championship last year and then played three matches in the NCAA Collegiate Bowling Championship.

The seeding was determined by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Power Index Rating:
