NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Sixty-Five (65) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, one of which played for the Wilmington University women's soccer team, as announced by commissioner Dan Mara.
In order to be named to the CACC Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, recipients be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring or summer semester of 2016.
Kim Richer graduated in three years with a bachelor's degree in special education and elementary education from Wilmington and is now currently studying for her master's in special education. She came into her senior season with a 3.85 cumulative grade point average this fall.
Twelve (12) individuals on the list were named to the All-Academic Team for the third time in their impressive careers, while 23 student-athletes were two-time honorees.
The Wildcats finished the season with an 11-8 overall record, earning the fifth seed in the CACC Tournament with an 8-4 conference record. The Wildcats advanced to the CACC Tournament Semifinals for the first time since the 2012 season.
