Krysta Memis Becomes First Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete to be Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America Team

NEWARK, Del. - - Graduate student Krysta Memis became the first Wilmington University women's soccer student-athlete to be named an Academic All-American as the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America announced their academic honor on Thursday.

Krysta Memis is the 10th Wilmington student-athlete to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, with the Wildcats earning such an honor 13 times with two individuals earning the award in multiple seasons.

Krysta Memis (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) has been perfect in the classroom through her entire undergraduate and now graduate careers. On the field, she finished tied for third on the team with 15 points, scoring five goals while adding five assists. She's scored game-winners against Nyack and against Georgian Court, with a season's best five points coming in the win against Nyack with two goals and an assist. In the classroom, she graduated with a Liberal Studies degree with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, and now has a 4.0 GPA while studying for her MBA. She was named a Second Team All-CACC member for her efforts on the field this year.

Twenty of the 34 members of the 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Women's Soccer teams have at least a 3.90 GPA, with 12 student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.94.
